In the heart of Bloomsbury, the Store Street Spring Market will provide a showcase for the wealth of independent shops in Store Street as well as an international line up of visiting stalls. A street market with a festival feel featuring international street cuisine, artisan grocery foods together with ethical traded, handmade, eco-friendly arts, crafts, clothing, jewellery, accessories and original ideas.
Live music, street performers, children’s entertainment, bar and seating areas will add to the occasion together with some special attractions courtesy of local retailers.
The Store Street area with its pretty garden squares sits in central London just north of Holborn. It became fashionable in the 17th and 18th century with “the Bloomsbury set” a collection of bohemian writers, artists and intellectuals including E. M. Forster and Virginia Woolf.
Today’s Bloomsbury is still a cultural centre, and is the location for a number of London’s leading universities, as well as the famous British Museum.
