We are looking forward to returning to Mote Park with Maidstone May Market from Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd May 2021 following cancellation of our FreeWheelin FEASTival in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Our May Market will feature a different format to our FEASTivals which accommodates social distancing and extra sanitation measures. It will offer an interesting, vibrant shopping and alfresco dining experience that is also safe for people to enjoy at this time.
Visitors to the Maidstone May Market will be able to choose from a wide selection of freshly prepared street foods, artisan grocery products, arts, crafts, clothing and accessories or enjoy a craft beer from the Famous Last Stand bar. To control overall numbers in attendance and keep the market Covid safe, entrants will require a ticket which can be purchased from the Zoom Events website (please click here to book) at a minimal cost of £1 per adult and 50p per child aged 5 to 17 years old. Free tickets can be ordered for children aged 0 – 4 years old. Any surplus ticket revenue, after ticketing administration and additional costs of Covid safety measures have been taken into account, will be donated to Demelza Children’s Hospice.
With a huge green open space to enjoy, the market will feature local Kent traders as well as those from further afield. Visitors will be able to dine alfresco with a selection of world foods including pork or chicken souvlaki, meats cooked in a traditional smoker oven, grilled German sausages, Mexican fajitas and crepes plus Thai and Chinese dishes. Social distancing and queuing systems will be in place for the bar, food outlets and outdoor seating.
Artisan groceries such as award winning flavoured waxed cheese truckles, coffee beans, deep dish cookies and traybakes will be available to take home and savour. The foodie treats will be accompanied by an array of stalls selling unique arts, crafts, clothing and accessories providing opportunities to find unusual items for the home or gifts for friends and family.
Don’t forget to order your tickets in advance because numbers are limited – we cannot guarantee they will still be available on the day. Tickets must be available for us to scan on entry.
