Resuming Zoom Events With Social Distancing Measures

by | Jun 8, 2020 | Event Information, Events, News

We have missed our event visitors this spring but hope that you are all managing to stay safe during these unprecedented times. There is now some light at the end of the tunnel as the infection rate and daily deaths reported are on a downward trend and the government is starting to ease lockdown measures. Encouraging signs are also coming from within dozens of research groups across the world making progress to develop a vaccine against Covid-19. We are continually monitoring government advice with a view to re-starting some markets and events from July. The events will follow revised formats and social distancing measures will be in place to protect traders and visitors.

Ensuring our events are safe to attend is of paramount importance to us and we have been striving hard to ensure that we are well equipped with extra sanitation facilities and social distancing processes. Please read on to learn more about the measures Zoom Events, and the independent businesses who work with us, will be putting in place as we resume our events. Many of our events take place in outdoor locations which lend themselves well to adaptation for social distancing. Nevertheless, it’s vital that everybody attending adheres to our social distancing guidelines as we resume under the ‘new normal.’

What we are doing to help keep you safe:

  • Managing the number of visitors onsite appropriate to the space available and social distancing required. This will be accompanied by clear signage and pro-active stewarding
  • Regular advance event information through our website and social media channels as an event approaches
  • Working with venues to increase the size of communal areas, providing more space for social distancing and seating
  • Ensuring seating and queuing areas have a 2M distance between them and markers where appropriate
  • Provision of clear, separate entry and exit points for our events
  • Installation of hand sanitation stations and hand washing stations
  • Extra security and site personnel to provide advice and enforce social distancing measures
  • Table ordering and collection system for event bars and street food stalls where possible
  • Regular enhanced cleaning schedules for table areas and toilets
  • Provision of new Covid-19 safety rules that all traders must adhere to if they trade at one of our events

What you can do to help you stay safe at our events:

  • Adhere to the social distancing and sanitation rules in place at all times
  • Follow the advice of stewards and security staff onsite in regards to social distancing
  • Read and adhere to event signage in regards to distancing, queuing, one-way systems, entrances and exits
  • Stay within your own small family or friendship group and do not mix with other guests
  • Use a contactless card to make payments wherever possible
  • Bring items that the government has advised are likely to help you limit the risk of catching or spreading Covid-19 such as masks and small bottles of hand sanitiser
  • Wash your hands regularly and especially before eating
  • Place all rubbish in the dedicated collection points provided

We look forward to welcoming you back and hope for some more warm sunshine as our Zoom Events re-open. In the meantime, please stay tuned to our website and social media channels for important event information and announcements.
