From a visit to either ZSL Whipsnade Zoo or Woburn Safari Park to a leisurely walk in Marston Forest, Bedfordshire has many attractions. Travel to Dunstable Downs, for a great view or visit The Shuttleworth Collection Biggleswade with its unique historical collection of aircraft – many in flying condition. A permanent ‘mini’ museum ins Sandy tells the story of Roman Sandy.
In Bedford the John Bunyan (1628-1688) Museum houses his personal effects and copies of The Pilgrim’s Progress translated in over 100 languages, together with other works. Jordans Mill and Gardens (noted as a milling site in the Domesday Book of 1086) is a lovely location near the River Ivel. Woburn Abbey, home of the Duke of Bedford in another on a long list of places to visit.
