With a stunning coastline, castles, caves, cathedral and stunning countryside this region has much to offer the visitor. Immortalised in the books by the victorian novelist Thomas Hardy there are still many qaint cottages and idllylic sights unchaged from that era and before, including Gold Hill at Shaftesbury -made famous in a TV advert (for a certain maker of bread being delivered by a boy on a bike).
